Critique My Blog

I'm a day late. My bad.

Today I open my blog up to you! I want to know what works and what doesn't work for you on this blog. Let me know me your thoughts in the comment section below. If you want sign up for this blogfest click here!

Even if you aren't a participant in the blogfest I would still like to hear your thoughts. Here are some things to think about when critiquing my blog:
  1. Appearance: Does it appeal to you? Is it too busy, or too plain?
  2. Layout: Is it difficult to navigate? Is it cluttered, or sparse?
  3. Frequency: Does the blogger post too often? Not often enough?
  4. Content: Are the posts interesting? Unique? Are they focused, or all over the place?
  5. Quality: Are the individual posts too long, too short, too sloppy, or too generic?

This linky list is now closed.

I am going to critique every blog in this list. Busy me!

  1. I love how personable your posts are. You've got a beautiful way of writing that draws me in. The page is a little wide for my netbook (10inch) screen without making the type size a little too small.

I'd place the subscribe to your blog button slightly nearer to the top. It's more important than your weight to me. I've been the same weight as you. Have faith in yourself. You can do anything you want to. You can most certainly write!

  2. beautiful header and great post content

suggestion, if you want to write lengthy posts, go to a single wider column and one side bar.

love the personal touches and samples of work!

  3. I love your background and blog title too. I also agree with Kate on the follow button being toward the top.

I use firefox, so the size isn't a problem for me. Some of your posts are really long and it might look more appealing to the reader if they were broken up with some photos of some kind. And Tara's suggestion to use only one sidebar and have a wider post area is great.

It's always wonderful to find talented young writers out here. Keep up the good work!

  4. Maybe the number of colours - background, widgets, fonts etc. could be fewer. And the font style not many, maybe just one. Blog title is nice, but maybe the header image could be rethought.
